We are running a new feature on all of the blogs here at Skinny Moose Media. The feature is going to auto link to key words in our articles to provide you the reader with more information to access. The difference in my links and the ones that are automatically generated are: mine are either a different color or a single underline under the word or phrase, the automatically generated links are double underlined. What I would like to know from you the readers is does this bother you when your browsing an article or do you just overlook it or click on them if you feel it necessary.

We are trying this for a while and we would like some honest feed back to see what you think. This is your chance to have your voice heard on the things you browse for on the internet. So let us know your opinion.

If they’re used in the proper context (i.e. “turkey calls” is a link about turkey calls), then that’s fine and might be helpful. When they’re out of context and are just a sneaky way of inserting an ad, that’s annoying. For example, you’ll notice that in your entry, “…a single underline…”, the word “single” is hi-lighted, sending the reader to a singles dating website.

Personally, I’m not crazy about it – but would be interested to see how others view it. Not that I oppose it, it just seems more distracting – not so bad that it is unreadable, though.

For the most part I usually just ignore them unless something catches me eye or peaks my intrest.

I like them. I don’t use them alot, but when one does catch my eye, it’s very handy. And if it is one of those misleading one’s, I just go back to what I was looking at.

I could do without them. yuch. If I want “info” I’m not so arthritic yet that I can’t just google it myself. Besides, if some (like the “single” to singles site) redirect to unwanted locations, I don’t need my kids going there.
