Driving for Richard Childress Racing, 21-year old Austin Dillon, in the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Silverado, raced to victory around the 1.33-mile “D” shaped Nashville Speedway to win the Lucas Deep Clean Camping World Truck Series 200.

“It is an honor to win this race driving the No. 3,” commented Dillon. “I’m proud for my grandpa and all fans of the No. 3. This is a great victory and I share it with Johnny Morris and everyone else at Bass Pro Shops.”

Dillon, is the grandson of RCR owner Richard Childress and son of Mike Dillon, a former NASCAR driver who is now RCR’s vice president of competition. The Clemmons, N.C., native began his racing career in 2005 driving Bandaleros and Legends cars, progressing to dirt and asphalt Late Model cars by 2007. He earned rookie of the year honors and finished second in the 2008 NASCAR Camping World Series East point standings.

In 2009, Dillon competed in the NASCAR Camping World Series, ARCA Series, Nationwide Series and made two starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Dillon’s latest win was in September 2010 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Friday night’s victory marks Dillon’s first pole win this season and third pole win of his career.
