[...] The moose I took in Maine last year is now up above our fireplace. We had to get the wall reinforced to hang it and it certainly takes up some space. This bull was a bruiser as you can see by the scars he has. Wyrick’s Taxidermy is who mounted the head for me, and he did a great job.
[...] Muzzleloader Season will be here before I know it. Here is the story of the last deer I took with a muzzleloader on the opening day of 2004. That was a heck of a hunt and required me to rely on my tracking skills to find the buck. I missed last years hunt because I was in Maine Moose Hunting with my trusty rifle. If you’ve never tried black powder hunting season you ought to give it some thought I love it because like the article says the woods are a bit quieter and less crowded. [...]

[...] The Maine Moose Lottery is only hours away and for many it’s like Christmas eve as a small child wondering if Santa would bring you that one toy you wanted the most. I just got back from a week in Maine yesterday and the topic of the draw came up a lot. Of course, I’m sitting this one and next years out after a successful 2005 hunt. I’ll be watching closely as many family and friends have their fingers crossed for the big draw. About 500 people are expected to show up at Scarborough Downs race track where wildlife officials will announce the 2,895 names that will get moose permits. This is the 25th anniversary of the annual hunt. [...]
