As the first rays of sunlight arrived over the Carolina landscape there was no mistaken the sounds (bang, bang…bang!!) that proved that bird flu had taken hold across the state. I’m sure I’m not the only one who bagged out of work to greet the arrival of duck season. Granted with ducks you can catch the first flight and still make it to work or school close to on time. However with predictions of a sunny beautiful afternoon with temps in the 80’s and this evening is the opening of the Carolina Hurricanes Season.  Who wants to sit through a meeting or class? The initial start was a bit slower then normal but it picked up quickly. We should of limited out shortly into the hunt when flocks of 5 or 6 birds buzzed over our heads. A beautiful morning and a great day to be outside enjoying God’s great creation. The hunt was over by 8 with the crystal blue skies and the bright sun the duck flights ended as quickly as they started. As much as I’d like to stay out another day or two to recover I think I better save up some days for the “deer flu” I here its suppose to be real bad this year.
