As some of my friends tell me I must have a lucky horse shoe somewhere because I’ve been drawn not just once but twice for a Maine Moose Permit. I’ve taken two bulls and heck I hope I get drawn again someday. It’s not unusual after the lottery draw for me to get contacted by a lucky hunter who wants some advice or tips on the adventure they are beginning. I’m more then happy to help out and such was the case this past season when Jay English contacted me.
Jay had drawn a cow tag for district 3 the same district I had hunted the season before. Moose are becoming a bit more skittish animal and the hunting can be tough to fill your tag. I encouraged him to scout the area a bit because district 3 is huge and the week I hunted cows were harder to find then bulls believe it or not. I tried to give him some great information and hoped that he was successful on his quest.
