The Alligator does range into parts of North Carolina however not this far north but with one being discovered in the neighboring county of Harnett one has to wonder what is going on. The 8 foot 9inch gator was spotted swimming in a small community pond that children play and fish around. No one is talking about where it came from but neighbors were quick to react and capture the reptile and contact North Carolina Wildlife to relocate the beast. The gator has been relocated to an undisclosed location believed to still be inside Harnett County but a more remote location so it will have less chance of run ins with humans. Wildlife officials are urging people to be cautious around gators because they are dangerous and leave trapping and relocation to the Wildlife Commission. Gators are endangered specie in North Carolina so it is against the law to kill or harass them.
