The 32nd Dixie Deer Classic will open on Friday at the Fairgrounds. This is the Grand Daddy of outdoor shows in my opinion and a show you can’t miss. This I believe will be my 18th Classic and boy have they improved it over the years. I remember when it was just one building and now they have multiple buildings plus some outdoor stuff as well.

Its still the place to get your deer head scored and if you don’t have one for this year you can look at what others are bringing in. A great way to see what parts of the state are producing the big boys. There will be numerous booths carrying just about any type of hunting equipment you might need and some you’ll scratch your head and wonder who’d buy that.

Camo Corn was an odd thing at last years Classic

For me the opportunity to meet up with people who share the same passion as me for the outdoors is great whether it’s some TV Hunting Celebrity or just someone I met on a hunt, or a biologist its great to learn and exchange ideas. There will be many seminars offered and while the famous guys will draw the crowds don’t miss the opportunity to hear from the less known guys, they have some great information to pass on to you that just might make you a better hunter.

Turkey hunting is just about upon us and there will be plenty of calls, camo, blinds and whatever else you need to fill the tag at the show. Heck there is going to be so much stuff to see and do you might just have to go all three days….good thing your admission is good for the entire show. I’m hopeful I can do some updates from out there but we’ll see. Well I’ll see you at the Dixie Deer Classic.
