Animal Planet has a new show about Maine Game Wardens called North Woods Law airing Fridays at 9pm. I’ve watched a number of them and think over all it is pretty good. I guess my only issue with any of these shows is how the term “hunter” and “poacher” get used interchangeable it seems. Of course I’m sure the wardens have a lot more positive encounters with folks then what is shown but viewers want to see the criminals. This particular show seems to have a better balance then some of the other similar shows in that it shows more of the other duties wardens perform.

World Premiere Friday, March 16, at 9 PM

NORTH WOODS LAW follows Maine’s elite game-warden service as they navigate the Pine Tree State’s rugged terrain during hunting season – one of the busiest and most perilous times of the year. Each punch of the time clock is a ticket to extreme danger and drama as undercover stings and intense rescues are all in a day’s work. Whether they’re tracking bears on dangerous mountains or busting drunk drivers on ATVs, these wardens risk life and limb to protect animals and serve the people of Maine.

Show is well worth checking out so set your DVR now.
