The deer meat pulled apart like pulled pork

The Mincemeat Pie was not a hit but it was more the unwillingness of folks to even give it a try. A pie with deer meat in it was a pretty foreign concept and seemed to be a hurdle hard to overcome.
My wife tried it and she liked it but being married to me she knows wild game is often on the table and she will usually try something once. I had a nephew who gave it a shot and while we haven’t talked about it I hear he thought it was ok.

I realize that much of this is a cultural thing growing up in New England it was a pie I saw often around the holidays. Here in the South its not a pie people have seen before. I’ve tried grits and don’t see what the big deal is I usually pass on them. I got a brother who lives in Maine that every time I go up there I bring him grits…. he just loves them.
The dessert table at Christmas was overflowing with goodies…many time tested in the family…. so it was understandable my pie got looked at and past over.
I guess if your not going to push me to eat grits I won’t push ya to eat my mincemeat pie… but I’ll tell ya you don’t know what your missing.

Chances are good if you stop by my house on Christmas next year there be a slice of mincemeat pie and a good cup of coffee waiting for ya but if ya looking for grits you better head to my brother’s house in Maine.

I came across this photo of a buck that appears to have lost a battled with a volley ball net in Ridgfield NY.

a buck that has been a visitor in her yard in nearby Brewster, N.Y. for about two weeks. Suddenly, one day he appeared with netting tangled in his antlers, which is worrying Ms. Hovey who has been in touch with wildlife officials about capturing the buck and removing the head-gear. According to Tom Belote, who leads the Deer Committee in Ridgefield, “The problem is that the bucks like this one will soon go into competition with other bucks — going rack-to-rack. The buck challenging this one could easily become entangled in the same netting, leaving the two deer locked together with both of them dying.

Ridgefield Press

Well I may have another idea what maybe happening here given the increased interest in antler restrictions when it comes to hunting maybe this is the evolution process at its finest. I suspect this maybe the latest in deer camo making it difficult if not impossible for a hunter to be able to count how many points this buck has thus making him unkillable. This buck may have just found a way to outsmart the hunters.

A Black bear that found his way to the Great Fall’s Airport Terminal kept opening the automatic door but never actually entered the terminal. Unconfirmed reports say that he could view overly eager TSA officers donning rubber gloves and just waiting to poke and prod his furry coat. The bear instead climbed a tree outside the terminal and waited for Montana Game Wardens to show up to avoid being violated by federal agents.

Game wardens removed a black bear from a tree outside the Great Falls airport terminal early Monday.
The incident occurred at about 3 a.m. on Monday when police called Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game warden Brett Logan.
Bruce Auchly, information officer for Fish, Wildlife & Parks, said the young bear had been going back and forth in front of the terminal doors, triggering the motion detectors to open the doors, though it did not enter the building. By the time Logan arrived, the animal had climbed a tree near the west end of the terminal.
Logan tranquilized the bear, which was transported out of town to a remote location.
Wildlife officials theorized the animal might have been pushed onto airport property by nearby rising waters.

Well I found a Zagnut bar and I’m not overly impressed. As you may recall an individual with the aid of a Zagnut bar was able to lure a Bigfoot out of hiding here in North Carolina long enough for him to capture a thermal image of the beast.
I had never had a Zagnut bar and giving that it seems the candy of choice of bigfoot I decided I better find some and give it a try. It took a little doing to find it around the house here so maybe we have a good population of bigfoot’s that keeps the candy out of stock or this is just not a popular candy bar here in the Raleigh area. I suspect the later.
The Zagnut Bar is similar to a Clark Bar except instead of being covered in chocolate the Zagnut Bar is covered with what appears and feels a lot like dryer lint. The taste is not that much better… I believe the outside covering is toasted coconut.
I realize an individual’s personal taste may vary so you may not find the Zagnut bar to be as bad as I have described. However please use caution should you decide to enjoy a Zagnut bar I hate to have one of my readers injured or maimed by a bigfoot because they have developed a taste for the Zagnut.

200 people showed up for the bigfoot hunt in Uwharrie National Forest along with a film crew from animal planet . Mike Greene and his encounter with bigfoot is what attracted Animal Planets film crew to NC. Mike Greene claims that he used a Zagnut Candy Bar to attract a bigfoot in to capture his thermal image to prove his existence. The video of this encounter is available if you go to his website and pay to view it. I’ll admit I didn’t view it.
While the hunt did not flush out a bigfoot some signs of the bigfoot were supposedly uncovered.

On Saturday approximately 200 people gathered at the Eldorado Outpost for a search in the Uwharrie National Forest. Walking through an open field a long line of searchers spread out as if they were doing a drive. A helicopter flew overhead, filming the scene. Camera crews on the ground filmed the searchers and whistles and bullhorns alerted the searchers when to stop. The searchers, found a deer carcass, animal hair on a fence and a Bigfoot print in the ground.

Montgomery Herald

Maybe they should of set up some Zagnut bait stations to increase their chances of an encounter. We’ll continue to follow this and update when there is additional news.

North Carolina is once again ground zero for the hunt for the ever elusive Bigfoot. Animal Planet has sent a film team here to document the hunt as reports of the Bigfoot roaming these woods continue to circulate. There are many things that are rumored to roam the lands of North Carolina some I believe do others I don’t;
Cougars, or mountain lions… yup I believe there are some however I’m not convinced that NCWRC released them.
Red Wolves….nope we got a souped up coyote with red wolf traits that US Fish and Wildlife released on us but no pure red wolves.
Chupacabra the blood sucking creature I don’t know … maybe how they got here I can’t speculate.
Big Foot ain’t no way in heck we got one of them running around some redneck would of mounted that thing on the front of his pick up and paraded him through town. Trust me they are not going to find big foot.

We’ll continue to follow as this story develops cause we know it will.
