Hey Travis,

I'd recommend the Classified Section of Archery Talk as a good place to buy a used bow. However, you need to know your draw length first. Have a bowhunting/archery friend help you with that or search on line for the "wingspan method" of determining draw length. Just buying any old bow won't work.

good luck and happy hunting, dv

Bryon,

The fish are used as trap bait, some I eat (drum), fertilizer for field and gardens and some are given away to people who want them.

Thanks for reading the blog and leaving a comment.

happy bowfishing, dv

Andrew,

Thanks for visiting the blog.

First, I must say I've never bowfished in FL. However, from my own experience and from watching some of the more popular bowfishing DVDs I, personally, would stick to the same set up I'm using now for fresh and brackish water bowfishing. Moderate axle-to-axle bow for good finger shooting, AMS Retriever, No Glovs for the string, Muzzy Wheel of Fortune or Fish Hook rest with fiberglass arrow, Muzzy points and AMS safety slides.

If you have any more questions please ask away, dv
