Yes, I know Moose, the broom is looking like a possibility…but here’s the deal. A playoff series doesn’t get interesting until the home team loses.
Now, I might come back on here tomorrow with my tail tucked between my legs, but I think the Pens will come out tonight and find a way to beat the mighty Red Wings. Game 4 as well.
The Penguins played 2 great road games, but managed to lose them both.
Game 1 – outchanced Detroit, outshot Detroit, outhit Detroit, but got outlucked (2 goals off the crazy Hockeytown boards) and Osgood stole the game.
Game 2 – can’t say that I’m a fan of letting all the clutching and grabbing go after calling those same plays 2-minute interference penalties for the 82-game regular season and first 3 rounds of the playoffs. Once again, outchanced Detroit, outshot Detroit, but Fleury lets in a weak goal, Penguins hit every post (left, right, and crossbar) at least once.
If the Penguins bring the same game to the next 2, they will get bounces as I believe bounces are 50-50 by the end of 99% of series.
Bring the pain Penguins! I still say Penguins in 7!
