I was down at the research site yesterday collecting my GPS radiocollars that had fallen off some of my bucks and decided to cast a crankbait out over the main point of the lake for 20 minutes. I was starting to think the water was still a bit too cold for the bass to be active when this girl inhaled the crankbait. First bass of the year! I’m a horrible judge of weight, but she was almost 21″ long, so I’m guessing in the 5-7 pounds range.
Kept casting a while longer and caught a 3 1/2 pounder as well. Looks like a fishing trip will be in my near future.
