Been fishing twice over the last 2 weeks. First trip out was good on the quantity side of things, GREAT on the quality side. Buddy netted this 7-7 largemouth dragging a spinnerbait where some shallow water met deep water. Also put a couple 4s in the boat.
Next trip was Saturday and quality was great, but quantity was awesome. We filled a cooler with 1-2 pounders and released another 8 or 10 that were 3+ pounders. Biggest was 5-11.
The fish were on the most “rigid” pattern I’ve ever seen. White spinnerbait within 2 feet of woody structure in 2-4 feet of water = guaranteed bite. It was unbelievable! Got to the point where we were joking back and forth “Bet you $20 bucks that stump has a bass beside it”…and there would be 2! Like I said, best springtime bass bite I’ve ever been in on.
Shed hunting has been tough to say the least. Alabama deer don’t make it easy on the eyes when a few are still carrying antlers 3 or 4 weeks into green up. I’ve been out twice though and picked up 4 fresh ones. One was a matched set which I don’t have a picture of, but these 2 were picked up on my first antler hunt.
Next one is a “find the antler” photo
