Finally assembled all the pieces to the puzzle on Friday and spent the weekend getting my “new” (to me) bow firing bulls-eyes with my top pin.

Snapped some pictures of my set-up with the Kodak digital this morning, so I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

60 pound limbs maxed at 63 pounds.  Don’t know speed yet – no chronograph, but my top pin is getting the job done on a 3″ bulls-eye from point blank range to 30 yards.

Custom wrist sling.  Go to Ridge Runner Slings and you can get one completely customized for only $15 shipped.

QAD ultra rest HD.  Having a little fletching clearance issue still, but I just need to move my tie-in up the string a little bit and that should be solved.

Dumped my old release mainly because the Velcro was toast and I wanted a buckle style attachment.  Also, I’m a bigger fan of the jaws that open and close by pulling the trigger.  My old Trufire had a button to push to close the jaws.  Also, release arm is fully adjustable with about a 2″ range.

Other than the bow itself, this is the single biggest improvement to my archery hunting arsenal.  .019 pins wrapped Spot Hogg Real Deal.  Micro-adjustable knobs on the vertical and horizontal axis make sighting in a breeze.  Fiber optics are unbelievably bright, crisp, and don’t cover the whole vitals even at 50-60 yard long ranges.

B-Stinger SportHunter stabilizer.  Little goofy looking, but it has sure taken a good deal of the wobble out of my sight pins.  All 11 ounces of weight are forward making the stability of the entire rig much steadier.

Gold Tip XT Hunter 5575.  No real reason for selecting this arrow shaft versus other manufacturers or models.  Just a good price and that is what the archery shop had available.

2″ Blazer vanes.  Quite a bit more compact than the 5″ feathers I’m used to.  Only downside is I can’t see these things in flight or even stuck in the 3D target even at 20 yards.  I will be putting a 6-8″ wrap on the end of my arrows before hunting season rolls around.

That’s all there is to it.  I just have to practice, practice, practice and commit my new bow and form to muscle memory.  Then it will be time to field test on some wild critters!

Let me know what you think of my new rig.  So far, I’m loving it!
