Already made a significant change to my set-up.  I love the full containment design of the QAD ultra rest but I could not get the rest to perform correctly because of a couple different reasons.

One is the bow shelf on Elite bows is quite curved (I believe certain Bowtech designs may also run into this problem) and keeps the launcher from getting completely out of the way when the rest falls away on arrow release.

Second is the rest was defective and not always falling away.  About half the time it was the fletchings of my arrow slamming the rest down as the arrow was released.

As I mentioned a couple days ago, Quality Archery Designs seemed to have great customer service and stood behind their product 100%.  I shipped it Friday and they are supposed to fix and return it to me within a couple weeks.  That being said I’m not the type of person to replace a defective product with the same product.  Something about my confidence is lacking in that product even if I know it is a good design and built well.

The guy that works on my bow shoots a GT500 Elite bow which is basically like mine except it is 2.5″ longer axle to axle.  He has had nothing but good things to say about the LimbDriver drop-away rest on his bow, so I decided to try my luck with that one.  Got it installed, tuned, and shooting clearance free within an hour.

I also scooched my peep sight down a hair and moved my nock point about 1/4″ so I need to sight my bow in again, but I can already tell it is shooting much better with the new LimbDriver rest.  It’s not full containment but it seems to be getting along good with me so far.  Once I get the z28 dialed back in, I’ll have a better idea of how I like it.  Hopefully this is my last move setting up the new hunting rig.
