For socks, merino wool is again the way to go. Lightweight, keep odor to a minimum, dry fast… I picked up a 3 pack of Stoic Merino Comp Trail Crew socks over at www.steepandcheap.com a couple months back.

They are lightweight and low and will probably be my choice for the mid day period when temperatures rise and we are most mobile switching hunt areas from morning to evenings. For the evenings and early dawn or dusk when we might be sitting still at camp or glassing alpine meadows, I went with a midweight merino wool sock made by Lorpen. Lorpen makes a quality product and I don’t think you can go wrong with them.
