This great 8 point had a near death experience with dad the first weekend of rifle season but was able to escape unscathed…barely. Not so on the second weekend. After a slow morning with little activity, a hot doe led this buck to his doom around 9:30, just mere minutes before dad was gong to relocate to another property to hunt a buck he had on a midday pattern. Dad used his patented holler method to stop the buck in a shooting lane in the big hardwoods and laid it to him. He had a bruiser body weighing 180 pounds and just a tree trunk swelled neck. Definitely a 4 year old and a great buck for dad to fill his first central North Carolina buck tag.
