California’s A zone Archery Deer Season opened today. It also was The first day of my daughter Kelsey’s Hunter Safety class. It was hosted by Black Point Gun Club, and taught by Steve Jacobs. It will Go all day today from 8-5, and tomorrow 8-2.

While I had to work in the morning, I managed to get out in the evening for a quick little hunt. It was overcast and about 60 degrees. The wind came iup and blew Fog in that obscured the higher portions of the hills. I spooked 2 does and a fawn as I walked up the creek, but they settled right down and went to feeding.

After skirting around them I tried to get the wind right to explore the folds of the canyon. it kept switching and swirling, so I hiked out of there to look over some other areas. The fog obscurred my views so I called it a night.
