Courtesy of the National Wild Turkey Federation:
- Sportsmen and women with disabilities now have improved access to more than 650 acres of public hunting land near Woodcock Dam in Crawford County, Pa., due to a new parking lot and access lane at the facility.
- The project was made possible through the Pennsylvania Game Commission, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, local volunteers and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
- Wheelin’ Sportsmen NWTF is an outreach program that provides outdoor recreation opportunities to those with disabilities. Through its Matching Grants Program, projects benefiting individuals with disabilities may be eligible for funding.
- Shayne Hoachlander, land management group supervisor for the Pennsylvania Game Commission, thanked the Corps of Engineers, Wheelin’ Sportsmen NWTF and local NWTF chapter Northwest Thunderin’ Toms for their support.
