Sighting In with Shooting USA – Legacy Sports International

We’re in Reno, Nevada to profile one of the all time greats in Trap Shooting. 40 years ago Gene Lumsden was the best in the game, but he walked away from the sport to found Legacy Sports International, using his knowledge of shooting to find and import the best guns and gear for today’s shooters.

It’s cold outside, but hot on the inside of the Smith and Wesson Shooting Sports Center in Springfield, MA for the IDPA Indoor Nationals. Then Army Sgt. Bill Keever shows you the patterns you can get with the choke tubes in your shotgun.

The Smith & Wesson Gun of the Month Contest:

We have a winner for September and the Model 642 Airlite with Crimson Trace Laser Grips. He’s Paul Echols of Wheeling, West Virginia, who told me he was hinting to his wife that he’d like exactly that gun and sight combination for a Christmas present. Now he doesn’t have to hint. Christmas comes for Paul this week. He’ll transfer his Model 642 at Cabela’s in Wheeling, WV.

Meantime, the S&W i-Bolt is in play at the website, to be awarded in time for Gun Season. The i-Bolt is chambered in .270, which will definitely bring home the venison. Watch and win with the weekly questions. The answer this week will be revealed in the Sighting In Profile on Gene Lumsden. Then good luck in the draw at the end of the month. Obviously Paul Echols’ luck was working in the September drawing.

Menus for Cable, Satellite and your DVR:

You may need to force-feed your TiVo or DVR for the next week or so, until all the cable menus catch up to the new programming in October. I’ve got two services at my house, both Satellite and Cable. Only one of those had the listings right for last week. If you’ve wondered about how the menus get their information, all the channels up-load their program information to a central database, then the satellite, cable companies, even your local newspaper, go to the database to down-load the information for their services. Not all cable systems are on top of the process. But Outdoor Channel has updated their schedule for October. It’s now up to the locals to go get the info for their menus.

But you may rely on the airtimes I’ve listed in this message, even if your DVR thinks it’s going to be some other show. Tell the recorder to catch it anyway. And remember to program for an hour to catch all of the Shooting USA hour block on Wednesdays.
