The 21st Annual Early Bird Sports Expo will be held January 22th through 25th at the Bloomsburg fairgrounds in Pennsylvania, Exit 232 off I-80.

The David Broadt Family, Bloomsburg, has planned another fun filled weekend. The door prize, cash totaling $3,000.00, will be awarded to three people. The first prize winner will receive a cash prize of $1,500.00, the second cash prize winner will receive $1,000.00 and the third cash prize winner will receive $500.00.

Lanny Benoit, Middlesex, VT, will be the featured seminar speaker this year. You will learn how to have the hunt of a lifetime. The Benoit Brothers have over 100 years of hunting between the families. Their focus is on the next generation of hunters. They have written a book, co-authored by Bryce Towsley “Big Buck, The Benoit Way” which has sold over 40,000 copies. Become a better hunter by learning “what not to do” in hunting. Learn the mistakes hunters make and how to avoid them.

If you want to share your hunting and fishing experience with friends and family, Heath Painter will be the one to see. Heath Painter has earned the title of the “Optical Predator.” Heath has the “know how” and experience it takes to get the right shot in photography/video taping. Heath has worked with TV shows as Realtree Outdoors, Bushnells Secrets of the Hunt, Back Read Adventures and ESPN’s Advantage Adventures.

There are other great seminar speakers to appear as well. Chris Young , Columbia County Commissioner of Bloomsburg, will share his experience of trapping in Alaska. Freddie McKnight will share his knowledge of Predators. Ken Hunter is a great Fly fisherman. Ken is also a painter of the great outdoors. Ken has also designed the collectors pin and patch again for the show. This is the seventh pin and patch that Ken has designed for the show. This year’s patch features a Bear on the prowl. Get your limited edition collectors pin and patch before it’s too late!

The show has lots to offer to kids, the next generation in hunting. There is a fishing tank for kids to try to get the catch of the day. There’s a kids casting contest planned by Berwick Bass Club, bow shooting for kids coordinated by the United Bow hunters, and many other fun things for the whole family. Col-Mont Gobblers will have the Turkey Calling contest. There is also an Archery Shooting Contest planned by the Berwick Archery Club.

The show hours are Thursday, January 22, 4-9, Friday, January 23rd, Saturday, January 24th 10-9 and Sunday, January 25th, 10-5. The door prize winners will be awarded at 4:00 on Sunday. You do not need to be present to win. There is also an auction at 2:00 on Sunday for the wood carvings that Gary Helfiger will be carving all weekend long. A portion of the proceeds will be given to a local charitable foundation. Admission is $6.00 for ages 12 and up. Twelve and under are free.
