Pennsylvania Crossbow Federation Members:
On 10-24-08 the Board of Commissioners, “proposed to include the full inclusion of crossbows during the various big game and archery seasons.” This same proposal topped the agenda at the 1 -27-09 meeting where the Board of Commissioners voted in favor of the proposal starting with the 2009 archery deer and bear seasons. Crossbow inclusion received overwhelming support from Pennsylvania sportsmen, as well as many state, and nationalpro-hunting organizations.
After completing the due process of the Commissions proceedings. We are thankful that the Commissioners listened to the sportsmen of the state, and per policy have legalized full crossbow inclusion. We also feel that now is the proper time to change the definition of a bow to support the Commissioners decision. It took legislative action in the past to insert the current language in Title 34; therefore it will take legislative action to remove it and bring present day equipment in line with modern day seasons.
