Hunter’s Specialties Pro Staff member Nick Brichacek took first place in a field of 12 top callers in the Nebraska State Duck Calling contest, which was held September 19, 2009 in La Vista, Nebraska.
The win qualifies Nick to compete at the World Duck Calling Championships in Stuttgart, Arkansas in November, representing his home state of Nebraska.
This is Nick’s 6th contest championship, including the Nebraska State Hunter’s in 2003, WCA Finals Junior Duck in 2004, the Nebraska Ducks Unlimited State meet, Battle on the Ohio Deadduck 2-man duck and Nebraska State Duck Calling Championship, all in 2005.
“I’m excited about the win and the chance to compete in Arkansas,” said Brichacek. “I was using a new prototype contest quality call that is a modified version of the Neckbreaker single reed call. It has been a great experience joining the Hunter’s Specialties team and having the opportunity to work on product development and show people just how good Hunter’s Specialties’ calls sound.”
