My wife, Jenny, is from Campbellton, New Brunswick and grew up on fiddleheads and Atlantic salmon. I never had them until I visited her parents while we were still dating.
I think her mom was the one that cleaned them though, because after we got married and Jenny cooked some fiddleheads for me I found they were very sandy. 🙂
Hope she doesn’t read this comment.
I liked fly fishing for Atlantic salmon and trout near Jenny’s parents place and would see people with canoes coming from islands in the middle of the Restigouche River with huge bags of fiddleheads.
Some day I would like to go and pick a bunch, just the two of us. I think it would good fun and I am sure would bring back some childhood memories for Jenny.
Hey Jim…..you gotta do it!!!
