Advanced Angler.com has opened registration for their 2011 Fantasy Fishing contest. The Advanced Angler Fantasy Fishing contest will be the first one to combine the eight Bassmaster Elite Series and six FLW Tour Majors fields into one season long competition. Advanced Angler.com’s Fantasy Fishing is free to contestants.
Highlighting the contest will be the grand prize of a Stratos 175XT, Mercury / MotorGuide prize package for the contestant who earns the most cumulative points throughout the 2011 Fantasy Fishing season. Prizes including rods, reels, lure packages; clothing and gift certificates will be awarded to the top 50 contestants in the season long competition. There will also be separate prizes for the top five in each individual event.
An additional special prize will be for the first competitor out of the top 50. The 51st place competitor will win a chance to be a Guest Host for a Day via Skype on Bass Talk Live with Mark Jeffreys, Gary Guidice and the Bass Talk Live Crew. Bass Talk Live is a daily, live interview with the pros and question and answer from the fans show that airs on BASSZONE.com.
Points will be earned by selecting a team of five anglers whom the contestant believes will finish the highest at the respective events. Each contestants highest 10 events will be calculated to decide the overall season points standings, and therefore the winner.
Advanced Angler will also be holding individual standalone Fantasy Fishing competitions for the Bassmaster Classic and Forrest Wood Cup for a separate prize package for each tournament.
Anglers will select five anglers as their team for each event, and points will be awarded based on a 200 point system with bonus points for correctly selecting an angler that finishes in the top five.
Registration is currently open at www.advancedangler.com, and selection of teams for the Bassmaster Classic will begin February 7, 2011 and will close for changes on February 17 at 11:59PM EST.
