Hunters in the state of Iowa bagged a record breaking 212,000 deer last season. This is the first time the number of harvested deer has risen above 200,000. Officials say number of deer to be harvested to reduce the overblown population, was nearly met. These numbers should greatly assist in the attempt by the Department of Natural Resources to reduce the herd and better manage it.

What I find amazing is officials also say that an additional 34,000 licenses were sold last year compared to the year before. It is not often that we hear about those positive numbers.
