I’m probably going to get my ass handed to me on this one, but I was wondering. What place, if any, do you all think the wolf has in the NRM? And please, don’t be glib and say as a rug before my fireplace. It’s a serious question. I know everyone here is for management. What does that look like in your eyes?
Why don’t you read this and ask us again?
The Reintroduction of Wolves in the Northern Rockies as a Method of Making Money Under the Guise of Ecological Restoration
Also, please direct me to the scriptures that orders me to allow wild beasts have dominion over me, my children and my property whether that be lands or horses and dogs.. And don’t be glib and say well uh mans dominion doesn’t involve wiping anything out. We know that. You’ve been holding hands with liars a lot.
Pfft, that’s the whole point RR. It’s the general consensus that everyone here wants to annihilate the wolf completely. I say no, that is NOT what is wanted here.
And the whole point Harley is what I/we have been beating the drum about for many years; that “the other side” wrongfully accuses us of the desire for total eradication of predators. Not true but saying it does little good.
Don’t forget we have lived with black bears, we’ve even shot them out of our upstairs window ravaging our apple tree, and this was weeks after I forbade my husband from shooting the black bear.
I enjoy the black bears and love watching the cubs with their mother. When you run into them on a horseback ride they are more scared of the horse, than the horse is of the bear.
Cougars you see very rarely. They are as elusive or more so than wolves. Nocturnal mainly. But my husband was stared down once elk hunting by a cougar, and he had his scope on him in his sites, and the cougar slinked away. He didn’t want to shoot the cougar.
Had a cougar sneek down an embankment many years ago, stalking my husband walking down the logging road with our yellow lab Little Anne, and I yelled out the door and it turned and ran up hill.
Bugeling for elk one night fall of 2009 or 2010, we ran smack into a cougar and it let out this mean angry yeaooow. The scout was parked a mile away, and we didn’t have a gun on us, just the elk bugle and my dogs on a leash.
Had a cougar out at my barn two years ago in May, we had a bon-fire and a party out here, and my sister saw it, and it ran.
You see the tracks but they are elusive and quiet.
Of all the predators coyotes can be the most damaging when you have chickens, ducks, little dogs, and cats.
But wolves will take down your horse and cows, and are hammering our elk, moose, and deer……not to mention ranchers livestock. They also don’t show any fear of men, and have been seen in the day-light like the pack I saw in 2010 3 miles out of Potlatch, when we had that wolf eating out of one of our parent’s garage, grabbing deer bones.
That group has lied about me for seven years now. Sick of it.
It wasn’t annihilated in the first place, that was lie number one. Lie number two is claiming it’s all the “same” dog, so they could go to Canada, and bring down C.l. occidentalis. To top it off they did this with stolen sportsmen dollars $60M right out of the gate of P-R funds, not to mention how much they have stolen since.
They wiped out 75 years of wildlife conservation, covered our forests with diseases, and E.g. is going to be an epidemic because it’s being covered up right now, as doctors are finding out. Ranchers and outfitters have went out of business, including putting pressure economically on small communities.
Then when you try to educate, you get jerks like Bob Ferris making stupid articles about rural people and a culture he knows nothing about, but wants to wipe out himself.
Rural America is under attack, the wolf is doing just fine.
Like everybody said we had wolves, so why did they lie and say there were NO wolves, and inject them into every available elk habitat and drainage in Idaho including behind my house?
The 1984 Wolves of Central Idaho study by Kaminski and Hanson backed by the FWS, Endangered Species Program; Boise Field Office, Montana Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit, Univ. Montana. U.S. Forest Service, Region 1 and 4. Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Has extensive mathematical diagrams explaining how many wolves an elk herd can sustain, and shows that going over that number, the elk herd cannot sustain wolves nor me hunting elk anymore, how convenient. And that is quite obvious based upon my own personal observations over the last 10 years. The study visits all of these regions we have discussed over the years in Central Idaho, forest by forest. This study also places a great deal of value upon the hunting community’s observations during the study period. Wolves were here. I supported that. I’m pro wolf management. I like wolves, and I like elk. In fact I like all of Yahweh’s CREATION, but he comes first in all I do.
LOL- but I was wondering. What place, if any, do you all think the hunter, rancher, farmer, rural resident, has in the NRMs??? According to the U.N. and it’s supporters? NONE. Evolutionary based biology is a scam.
The question is actually a worthless one to ask Harley. While the regulars of this blog would have varying perspectives on how to best “manage” wolves, most of us see man as part of the landscape not an invasive species on it.
Wolves were killed off in great numbers years ago for a reason….whether we like it or not, it was NOT because of being scared reading Little Red Riding Hood. Not that wolves or coyotes or any predator needs to be eradicated, at the opposite end of that spectrum, those same predators were not intended to be exploited for the purpose of driving around in an automobile looking at them.
What makes the wolf an interesting animal? Much is because of its cunning, elusiveness and ability to adapt. Do wolves maintain the same romantic label if there are so many people live in fear of them (and please don’t interject the childish response that wolves don’t hurt anybody)?
But mostly what RR said my purpose and promises from God and this planet. I choose to believe that God has more brains than all of us combined and had a pretty good idea that we would figure out how to utilize the resource and take care of it. We’ve done a pretty darn good job I’d say because, 1. I don’t hate humans, and 2. I believe in God.
Ok Tom, come on. I would hope that you would know me enough to know that I don’t think a wolf would not hurt me given the chance, the right opportunity. They are opportunistic in nature which is why they adapt so well. My point here was to prove that you all here don’t want to make the wolf vanish from the landscape. I do believe RR when he said he saw wolves when he was younger. I think he had a pet wolf once too if I’m not mistaken. I do not like how you are all painted, it’s not a pretty picture.
And no RR, in response to one of your other posts. I don’t think dominion over all of creation means wiping something out deliberately. I do believe people have the right to protect what is theirs, be it live stock or family. I firmly believe ranchers should be allowed to take care of wolves killing their stock on their own private land, absolutely! I have nothing against ranchers and farmers, I come from a long line of both! I’m wondering if ranchers had been allowed to do that, to take care of the problems as they arose, then there would be no talk about ‘ranching welfare’, accepting subsidies for livestock killed by wolves.
I don’t know. I see a lot of good people on both sides. (and a lot of idiots too for that matter)
I think the comment I made about wolves hurting people was a general comment directed at anyone reading who felt that way.
But you do bring up an interesting question about what if ranchers had been able to protect their property. What if the introduction of wolves was supposed to be done in a way that would not disturb any of the “normal” everyday activities of people living and working in those areas where wolves were dumped? We will never know will we because even though this was part of “The Deal” it was NEVER adhered to. (note: go to BBB and search the site for “the deal”) and you can read what “The Deal” was – that promise that was made that convinced many that wolf introduction might not be such a bad idea.
While they constantly gripe about those subsidies they ignore the fact that elk come onto those ranches and eat off the cultivated fields and the cost is very high. If you’re looking for fair and balanced over there, you’re going to be looking forever.
Starts with “honesty.” The agencies like the USFWS/IDFG/MFWP/NPS working hand in glove with Environmental Groups lied from the beginning and “stole” our P-R funds, and our prey base that took 75 years to build; generations.
The treatment of the people of the West was on the “par” with the Jews that had to wear yellow stars on their jackets. These government employees and their NGO operatives, collaborated to pull another “Spotted Owl” scam and succeeded, but this time instead of putting 30,000 logging families out of business, and closing mills down all throughout the NW, they took the food off of our tables, and the ability to protect our private properties, livestock, pets, and most of all our wildlife.
We will never forgive them for what they have done. And former Earth First zealots “hippies” have taken infiltrated our State Fish and Game Agencies, even working inside our F & G Agencies. We’re finding out who they are.

The United Nations- A Global Scientific Dictatorship similar to what was tried by others using Hitler which failed. The powers behind Hitler, then created the U.N., In 1977, author Claire Chambers clearly delineated the United Nations role as a global scientific dictatorship: “ Since its inception, the U.N. has advanced a world-wide program of population control, scientific human breeding [i.e., eugenics], and Darwinism.” —Claire Chambers
Entitled UNESCO: Its Purpose and Its Philosophy, this document presents the following mission statement;
“Thus even though it is quite true that any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable.”
The ongoing agenda of eugenical regimentation required by the international machination’s by which it has been promulgated globally is irrefutable. That international machination is in fact the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Destruction of abundance and scarcity creation is it’s agenda using the controlled opposition environmentalist movements. Who in the end will suffer from its results themselves.
This was an experiment, Darwin used his own family as a science study;
“Darwin’s idea of inbreeding to produce superior stock can be seen to be a complete disaster in the case of his own ten children. Of the ten, one girl, Mary, died shortly after birth; another girl, Anne, died at the age of ten years; his eldest daughter, Henrietta, had a serious and prolonged breakdown at fifteen in 1859.” —Ian Taylor
Three of his six sons suffered such frequent illness that Darwin regarded them as semi-invalids while his last son, Charles Jr., was born mentally retarded and died in 1858, nineteen months after birth.” —Ian Taylor
So the genetically engineered elite ruling class know they must keep a slave class around for breeding purposes or they will become more inbred mentally retarded than they already are today. Thus their plan of a 500,000 global slave chattle property for manageing the global plantation, they assume they will have in the near future, 2050-2100.. It’s a fantasy. And this “rewilding” hoax is a large part of that fantasy.

US assassination drone attacks amount to a “war crime” against innocent civilians by a government that claims moral leadership of the world. And they will do that here in the future to any who resist them. These drone attacks are a war crime. It is murder. There is no other word for it. It is plain and simple murder. And it should not be allowed. In the regions the drones are being used witnesses and local officials maintain that civilians are the main victims of the assaults, 168 were children, that we know about. This society is being lead by psychopathic serial killers, and the society itself has become mentally seared into supporting the murders. By voting you approved of these actions by your silly commander in chief.

Chicago, the capital of Obamerica, is a city run by gangs and politicians. It has 68,000 gang members, four times the number of police officers. Chicago politicians solicit the support of gang members in their campaigns, accepting laundered contributions from them, hiring their members and tipping them off about upcoming police raids. And their biggest favor to the gang bosses is doing nothing about the epidemic of gang violence.
80% of Chicago’s murders are gang-related. But in 1999 when a bill came up in the Illinois State Senate to try anyone carrying out a firearm attack on school property as an adult, a law that would have affected gang members who often bring weapons to school, the future leader of Obamerica voted “present”. Had he not voted present, it is doubtful that he would have been reelected in an area where gang leaders wield a great deal of influence.
The majority of murders in the cities with the worst homicide rates are gang-related. And while it isn’t always possible to be certain whether a killing was gang-related, the majority of homicide victims in city after city have been found to have criminal records.
In 2010, there were 11,078 firearm homicides in the United States and over 2,000 known gang-related killings, over 90% of which are carried out with firearms. Since 1981, Los Angeles alone has had 16,000 gang related homicides. That’s more than twice the number of Americans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and it’s more than the number of Americans who died in the Mexican-American War.
You are missing the biggest catch. Chicago and Illinois have some of the strickest gun control laws. They are really working aren’t they…
Yes, it sure is a mess isn’t it Harley? Still dreaming of that Foundation Morgan?
Yeah… *wistful sigh* No money, no space so still a dream! Hey! They can’t tax that, right? 😉
Um, yes they can. Last time I checked the “American Dream” has been taxed into a “Knightmare”.. K is intentional since they did the taxing.
Oh sure, go and ruin it for me RR! figures though…
In 2006, the 54% of the population living in those 50 metro areas was responsible for 67% of armed killings nationwide. Those are disproportionate numbers especially when you consider that for the people living in most of those cities walking into a store and legally buying a gun is all but impossible.
Mayors of Obamerican cities blame guns because it’s easier than blaming people and now the President of Obamerica has turned to the same shameless tactic. The NRA counters that people kill people, but that’s exactly why Obamerican leaders would rather talk about the guns.
67% of firearm murders took place in the country’s 50 largest metro areas. The 62 cities in those metro areas have a firearm murder rate of 9.7, more than twice the national average. Among teenagers the firearm murder rate is 14.6 or almost three times the national average. Those numbers are from six years ago. They have grown worse since.
Those are the crowded cities of Obamerica. The places with the most restrictive gun control laws and the highest crime rates. These are the places where the family is broken, money comes from the government and immigrants crowd in from some of the most violent parts of the world bringing with them their own organized crime. These are also the places that have run by Democrats and their political machines for almost as long as they have been broken.
Obama won every major city in the election, except for Jacksonville and Salt Lake City. And the higher the death rate, the bigger his victory. He won New Orleans by 80 to 17 where the murder rate is ten times higher than the national average. He won Detroit, where the murder rate of 53 per 100,000 people is the second highest in the country and twice as high as any country in the world, including the Congo and South Africa. He won it 73 to 26. And then he celebrated his victory in Chicago where the murder rate is three times the statewide average.
These places aren’t America. They’re Obamerica.
Forget Wal-Mart and skip your local gun show. The murderers of tomorrow will not be found wearing orange vests at your local sporting goods store. They won’t have NRA memberships or trophies on their walls.
You won’t find them in America. Look for them in Obamerica.
Obama has become a role model to millions of people in the Black community. You can see posters and photos of him in every barbershop. If anyone can address these problems, it’s him. But instead of trying to solve the problems of Obamerica, instead of doing something about the high levels of unemployment, the broken families and the glamorization of drug dealing and violent crime, he wimped out and picked a fight with the rural Americans that he derided as gun-clingers.
