It’s all about competitive shooting on Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk (R) Radio, as Tom talks with Max Michel and Joyce Wilson this Sunday. Also joining Tom for a live chat on the national radio talk show will be Dave Spaulding , author of a new comprehensive training guide, Handgun Combatives. Gun Talk is the only nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
A personal protection class eventually led guest Joyce Wilson to The International Defensive Pistol Association, or IDPA. As Executive Director and Treasurer of IDPA, Wilson helps guide the organization that was founded in 1996 as a response to shooters everywhere wanting a shooting sport that simulated self-defense and real life scenarios. IDPA now has more than 17,000 members in 50 countries.
World Champion Shooter Max Michel is a busy man: Not only does he compete in shooting competitions all over the world as the Sig Sauer Team Captain, but also works closely with Sig Sauer on new competitive shooting products, manages Sig Sauer’s involvement in the competitive shooting world, and is also an instructor at Sig Sauer Academy – all before the age of 30. Michel has won more than 100 shooting competitions, including three World Speed Shooting Championships, and will anchor the USA Open Division Team at the 2011 World Shoot in Greece.
Lieutenant Dave Spaulding (Ret.) has almost three decades of law enforcement experience in a career that includes training, communications, SWAT and supervisory positions. With the second edition release of Handgun Combatives, a book many call the most realistic firearms guide ever published, Spaulding shares his extensive knowledge and training with the reader. Spaulding is also co-author of Defensive Living: Attitudes, Tactics and Proper Handgun Use to Secure.
